Unidentified eyewitnesses told reporters at the scene that the group of Ferraris, which included several F360s and a white Testarossa (or 512 TR / F512 M), were travelling over the speed limit going around 140km/h to 160km/h (85mph to 100mph).
Local media estimated that the total worth of the supercars alone is somewhere around 300 million yen or about US$3.85 million / €2.85 million.
"I've never seen such a thing," highway patrol lieutenant Eiichiro Kamitani told the AFP News agency. "Ferraris rarely travel in such large numbers."

Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano Slowly Roasts in the Middle of the Road in Dubai

Even though a Ferrari on fire is nothing new these days, in any other part of the world, a brand new or relatively new 599 GTB Fiorano slowly burning in the middle of the road like an over-sized shish kebab would have at least caused some commotion. But not in Dubai, the land of all things grand, ambitious and insanely expensive.
There's a couple videotaping the roasting Italian spécialité but nothing much else is happening with the drivers on the road just continuing their way.
We don't know how the accident happened nor if anyone was injured – though we assume that if the driver was still inside, someone would have stopped to help. Video follows after the jump.

Video: Yep, That's a Great Parking Job

Perhaps the driver of this new Ford C-MAX minivan didn't want to get his or her front tires wet, or maybe he or she was in a hurry for an appointment and didn't notice […] the u-shaped metal fitting sprouting out from the road. Whatever the case, we'd love to hear how the driver of the car explains this mishap to his/her insurance agent. Aftermath video follows after the break. .

This is What Happens when You Get Cocky with a BMW X3 at the Beach [Video]

Would you believe us if we told you that the BMW X3 SUV and the sea don't mix? Well, actually, some people need to find that out the hard way.
The owner of a murdered-out, first generation BMW X3 mistook the Bavarian model for a Lada Niva true-blue 4x4 and attempted some show and tell at the beach (possibly somewhere in Poland) by driving the crossover down to the water to pick up his other toy, a jet ski on a trailer.
As you can imagine, things didn't quite work out the way he planned… But at least he and his buddies had some good laughs and at the end, he was able to pull out the bimmer from the sand and the sea with the help of a winch. You can watch the videos for yourself right after the jump.

Ford Mustang GT Does Not Have Wings, Plunges from the Third Story of Swiss Parking Garage

An unnamed 24-year old driver of a new Ford Mustang 5.0 GT from Switzerland turned a humdrum parking job into a life-threatening situation when he went through the concrete wall of the third story of a parking garage in the Swiss city of Lugano on Monday.
The car fell from a height of around 15 meters (approx. 50 feet) before it came crashing down to the ground on some protective metal bars and a small tree.
Miraculously, the young man suffered only minor bruises and abrasions from the plunge and was released from the hospital he had been taken in.

Chuck Norris Approved: Man Flies Out of Truck Window but Walks to Tell Another Tale

Seatbelts are there for a reason and that is to save the lives of passengers and the driver alike. Now, you'd think that in this day and age, anyone without a death wish would use them.
Well, sadly, many people all over the world continue to ride in motor vehicles without strapping on their seatbelts. In this incident, a large lorry violates a red light ramming an oncoming truck at the intersection.
As a result, the driver (or the passenger, we're not sure) who obviously wasn't wearing his seatbelt, was flung out of the windshield. Amazingly, the man got up on his feet and walked away, slightly injured but nevertheless, alive. The crash happens approximately 50 seconds into the video which you can watch after the break.

A Crazy High-Speed Police Chase in Russia Caught on Film

Some criminals just refuse to give up, no matter how bad the situation gets. In this video that we came across today, a team of young car thieves in Russia are trying to escape from the police in a stolen, small station wagon model.
Several local police officers pursuit the car and even manage to deploy what looks like a spike strip that punctured the stolen vehicle's wheels. However, these thieves aren't ready to surrender as they continue their dangerous ride. But all things come to an end sooner or later… Watch the chase in the videos after the jump.

Naked Hummer Limo Thief Attempts to Run Away from the Police but is Caught by Dog [Video]

And just when you thought you've seen and heard it all, you run across another crazy story. According to ITN News, this latest bizarre incident took place in southern California on Saturday night when a naked man reportedly stole a Hummer stretch limousine at gunpoint.
After the vehicle's chauffeur notified the police, officers on the ground with the help of a police helicopter from above were somehow able to quickly spot the stolen Hummer (as it turns out, a stretch Hummer isn't as inconspicuous as the thief may have thought…) and began pursuit.

Woman gets Trapped in a Kia Rio Swallowed by a Sinkhole in New Hampshire

It's a pretty scary situation if you think about it; while you're driving in the middle of a city street, the road suddenly opens and swallows up your car leaving you trapped inside with water pumping out from the ground around you.
But that's what happened to a woman in a Kio Rio sedan when she approached the intersection at Beech and North Streets in Manchester's North End just after 6 a.m. on Monday. What looked like a puddle turned out to be a sinkhole that trapped her car.

TomTom's Christmas Tale of Slippery Accidents [Video]

Things can get pretty nasty really fast (or at least very interesting) on the road during the Christmas / Holiday season for those living in cold northern climates where snow and ice are common.
But sometimes, mishaps can also be quite amusing if you're simply watching them from the other side of the road.
Car navigation system specialist, TomTom, has compiled a video with a host of vehicle accidents caught on camera during the winter holidays. The video is waiting for you right after the break.

Captured on Camera: Russian Style Highway Robbery in a Volvo S80

Unless these men had one drink too many and were in desperate need to use the can, we are forced to conclude from what we see in this video footage sourced from a dashboard camera mounted on a trailing vehicle, that they either clobbered or stole from someone, perhaps even both.
The clip starts with a black Volvo S80 driving normally on a traffic jammed road, allegedly somewhere in Moscow, Russia, but as soon as the cars in front stop, the driver pulls the vehicle diagonally on the road and then three men dressed in black jump out of the car.

Talk About Dodging a Bullet: Extremely Close Call with Semi Truck Caught on Film

This in one of those cases that not one person would believe how close you came to meeting your maker without video proof. Fortunately for us, the driver of the car involved in this close call had a dashboard mounted camera that recorded the entire incident on film.
Basically, what we have here are two careless drivers that created a potentially deadly accident scene with their foolish actions as both attempted to overtake a vehicle on a relatively narrow road under freezing conditions. See how it went down in the video after the break.

Oh, Yes he Did: Miami Cop Drives Police Cruiser up a Pole [Video]

The only recent comparable accident that comes to mind upon seeing this Miami police cruiser in what can only be described as an embarrassing position, is the New Hampshire incident back in February when a Ford Fusion landed and stayed on its face in a snow bank.
We're told by ABC News that police officer J. Brutus was driving near the intersection of NW 6th Avenue and 67th street in Miami when he allegedly looked down to grab a pen that had fallen but when he looked up, he found himself…staring at the sky!

Scary Motorcycle Accident Caught on Rider's Helmet Camera as it Happened [NSFW]

Motorcycle accidents are often very severe for the simple reason that there's no buffer zone between the rider and the vehicle (or the road), which makes them all the more terrifying to watch when they're captured on tape.
You can multiply the feeling by about ten when the camera happens to be mounted on the helmet of the motorcyclist involved in the crash…

Airborne Renault Crash Lands into Slow Moving Vehicles in Russia [Video]

A Russian driver caused a multiple-vehicle accident when he came flying over an elevated section of a parallel road leading to a bridge near Lenin Avenue in Moscow and smashed into several cars on the freeway below.
According to reports from the local media, the 24-year-old driver of the Renault hatchback lost control of the vehicle because of the slippery conditions of the road and smashed into an oncoming Ford, which hurled the French model into a spin and off the elevated ramp.
All in all, six vehicles were involved in the incident but fortunately, there were no casualties, with only one driver suffering some minor bruises. Click through the break to watch the crash as it happened.
